The public authority that oversees data-protection law and handles complaints; in the UK this is the ICO.

A data protection regulator is the independent public authority that oversees data-protection law and handles complaints from the public. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Each country has its own regulator, so the body that applies depends on where you and the organisation are based.
