Data Subject Access Request (DSAR)

Your right to ask an organisation for a copy of the personal data it holds about you.

A Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) is the right, under the UK GDPR, to ask any organisation to confirm whether it holds personal data about you and to give you a copy, together with information about how and why that data is used. The organisation must usually respond within one calendar month, free of charge. At heart it is not a favour granted by a company but the everyday use of a fundamental right — to know what is recorded about you — that data-protection law exists to make practical.
